TickerWorth vs GuruFocus
What each costs, what each gives away, and where GuruFocus wins. Figures read from their own pages on 4 Sep 2026.
A deep, institution-priced value-investing terminal built around guru portfolio tracking, 30 years of financial history and its GF Value metric.
The short answer: GuruFocus and TickerWorth are not the same product. Depth we do not approach: 30 years of financials, guru and insider portfolio tracking, dozens of prebuilt screeners, an Excel add-in and a data API.

How each one arrives at a value
TickerWorth
A discounted cash flow, cross-checked against peer multiples and asset value. Every assumption is printed with its source — the base year cites the SEC filing accession number it was read from, house assumptions are labelled as ours rather than as market data — and Pro lets you move the discount rate and re-run the engine. Where a DCF is the wrong lens (banks, REITs, rate-regulated utilities) we decline to publish one and say why, rather than printing a number that looks like the others.
GuruFocus
GF Value — a proprietary figure built from historical trading multiples, past returns and estimated future performance. It is a published number rather than a model you open: the formula is described, the workings are not editable.
Where GuruFocus is the better buy
Written by us, about a competitor, on our own site — so read it with that in mind. It is here because the alternative is a table we win every row of, which is an advert.
- Depth we do not approach: 30 years of financials, guru and insider portfolio tracking, dozens of prebuilt screeners, an Excel add-in and a data API.
- They publish their headline fair value free and logged-out, exactly as we do — of this cohort, they and we are the two that do not paywall the number itself.
- An established brand with institutional users. We are eighteen months old.
Where the two differ
- Price. Their entry tier is $549 a year; ours is $99 / year. They are not really competing for the same buyer, and if you need guru tracking or an API you should pay them.
- Refunds. They state that a subscription is final once billed. We refund for 30 days, no questions asked.
- GF Value is a formula you read. Our fair value is a DCF you can open, argue with and re-run at your own cost of capital.
Try it before you decide
The fastest way to judge this is to read one: our full Apple valuation is open permanently — every assumption with the SEC filing it came from, the reverse-DCF and the sensitivity band, no account and no payment. Then open the same company on GuruFocus and compare what each one shows its work for.
